Abstract

The text analyses a particular type of art criticism, that of experimental criticism. It has been theorised that it occurs where there is a transgression of the boundaries of traditional criticism as defined by Słownik Terminów Literackich (Dictionary of Literary Terms). Selected examples of texts written after 1989 have been analysed, showing examples of broadening the field of criticism and going beyond traditional boundaries. Thus, the ways in which criticism is treated as a game, a deliberately applied strategy, the use of concepts and borrowings from the field of literature have been analysed. An analysis of the texts and the rhetorical devices used in them has been made, as well as the authors’ concepts. It concludes: criticism uses means previously attributed to art and is a marker of changes in the language of culture.
